Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is this rank predictor?
This tool uses linear interpolation on WBJEEB historical result trends and applies a competition growth factor based on projected enrolment. Accuracy is highest in the 67–102 score range where data density is highest. Results carry a ±3% confidence interval.
How is the 2027 rank calculated?
2027 projected rank = 2025 estimated rank × 1.3580 (growth factor). This factor is derived from the projected enrolment increase: 1,10,000 ÷ 81,000 = 1.3580. Higher competition compresses ranks upward.
What does the Confidence Interval (±3%) mean?
It means your actual rank is very likely to fall within 3% above or below the central estimate. For example, if the predicted rank is 2,000 — the true rank will most likely be between 1,940 and 2,060.
Does category affect rank?
Yes. Reserved category students compete within a separate merit list. The tool applies an adjustment factor per category (OBC-B: ×0.87, OBC-A: ×0.76, SC: ×0.60, ST: ×0.43) to estimate your effective rank within that reservation pool.
My score is below 50 — is the prediction still valid?
Below 50.41 marks, the tool uses linear extrapolation from the lower data boundary. Accuracy decreases at extremes. These scores are typically below the cutoff for most government colleges.
